Workshop: Building corporate cultures of sustainability

Instructors:

  • Walter Faaij, Consultant at The Culture Academy (Academie voor Organisatiecultuur)

Aim of the workshop

Providing participants new insight to understand the role of sustainability in companies and tools to embed sustainability in its DNA and create a change.

What will be going on in the workshop

We’ll establish the connection between sustainability (i.e. People, Planet, Profit) and culture. When embedding sustainability into a company culture, you’re guiding an organisational change, and shifting or even rebuilding the entire company culture. That’s what I call ‘building cultures of sustainability’. Anthropology offers highly effective tools and perspectives to help companies and organisations understand the challenge of sustainability and help them build cultures around it. The workshop will consist of three elements:

  • introduction on the relation between culture and sustainability;

  • working with an elegant model of corporate culture to assess the roles and levels of sustainability in any given organisation;

  • discussion of tools to make sustainability go viral and create culture change.

Gained skills
