Biography

Hélène Veiga Gomes is a french anthropologist passionate about city life, from the built environment to culture mutations. Dedicating ten years studying Lisbon transformation, while developing numerous projects as an applied researcher, she earned her PhD degree in 2016. Placing the transfer of knowledge at the heart of her work, she works as an Associate Lecturer in Social Sciences at the Paris Malaquais School of Architecture. Her professional goal is to ensure that the next generations of builders will have the right tools to put the human experience at the centre of their projects.

Her personal goal? Stimulating the sense of place and sustainability in master planning, urban development and related challenges, and to live many lives, like joining a team in an eco-activist boat or building a huge treehouse in a dozen years or so.
