Susana Gonzaga was born in Oporto where she made her education in Design. She holds a PhD in Design, held at Politecnico di Milano, in 2012, under the theme of Design Museums. She’s a higher education teacher for 14 years now and a graphic and product Design freelancer, since graduation in 1992. At the moment Susana is an Assistant Professor in Design at the Art & Design Department, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Madeira; teaching there since 2012 at the Design BA degree and since September 2016 at the Spatial Design MA degree.
During her experience as a high education professor, she has collaborated in several design education programs in Portugal, Italy, Romania and Turkey. Her research interests are now focused on Human Centered Design applied to public spaces, Contemporary Design Thinking; Communication Design and Spatial Design.
