Careers Fair

Part One: How To Pitch Anthropology

For 1 hour we will collectively work on a number of pitch decks for different fields of applied anthropology and different use cases. The goal will be to create content for several documents, which professionals from the fields will give feedback on, so young practitioners can learn which arguments they can use to pitch their skills on the job market, in front of their friends, colleagues, bosses and C-level executives of their fields. The session will start with a prepared template of proposals / pitch decks that participants will have to fill according to their sub-fields of applied anthropology or imagined audience.

The outcome of this session will provide a first kick-off for a document to be published as “How to pitch Anthropology”. This session will be online and onsite and organized in a central Zoom meeting, which all participants will have to join for the start of the session and to present their group’s outcome at the end of the session.

Max capacity is 40 attendees across online and onsite location, on a first come, first serve basis. Participation is open for the first 40 sign-up’s. The session will be organized in 8 groups a 4-5 members.

Part Two: Ask me Anything

A selection of practitioners will share their insights onsite and online with those interested in transferring from academic practice to an applied career in anthropology. Join a breakout room and ask your questions to colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere where the floor is opened to voice all doubts, frustrations, fears, and hardly any question is off limits.

Please note this format will give priority to colleagues who did not get the chance to join How To Pitch Anthropology.
